Venom Lab – The Pan Galactic Garble Blaster EP

June 12, 2016 by Wesley Richards

Venom Lab is a punk band based out of Los Angeles, CA. Crediting a massive list of influences (bands like Strung Out, Good Riddance, Slayer and At the Gates are all listed as influences alongside acts like Laser Dance, Kavinsky and Rodrigo y Gabriela, etc) the band blends elements of punk and metal with electronica and rock. Originally formed by brothers Wesley, Stephen and Dolf Richards in the bowels of Houston, Brothers Richards quickly realized that it was going to be difficult to produce music while serving consecutive life sentences for multiple counts of deicide, so they broke out of Huntsville and brought their sound to the streets of Hollywood. Unfortunately they quickly fell into a rough crowd, and since their knowledge of high school themed musicals was sub par, to say the least, they were quickly cast out of the inner Hollywood circle. Relishing in their new pariah social standing, Venom Lab began lashing out through the use of blistering guitar riffs, shredtastic synth leads, ear-bleedingly powerful bass lines and groin grabbingly vicious double kick driven drums. Leaving a trail of tweener blood in their wake, the punk act began to rise, but unfortunately due to the simultaneous crack and heroine addiction of the third key grip’s second great uncle, the band once again finds themselves fighting their way out of the gutter.

Fortunate Fall – A Death Related Party

July 30, 2013 by Wesley Richards

Fortunate Fall is a metal act based out of LA. With elements of thrash, death, grind, punk, flamenco, both light and smooth jazz, acapella hymnals, partycore, crab rap and reggae blended throughout, they keep the listener constantly guessing from start to finish. Originally formed in Houston, TX they suffered an early minor setback when a freak cycling accident took the lives of all original members. Reformed and refueled, the act took its anger and enormous genitalia to the west coast. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, the band promptly hit the streets and began selling their bodies for crack money. After overcoming several communal super aids outbreaks, the band set out recording their first full length A Death Related Party. The album was instantly banned due to a 750% worldwide violent homicide rate increase, and after 15 years in court and over 270 million in legal fees the album hit stores in late July.
